Massage Therapy for optimal health & well-being, injury rehabilitation and enhanced sports performance ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ David Gardiner is a qualified Sports Massage Therapist with extensive personal experience of international level competition (e.g. Commonwealth Games & World Championships) as a road-racing cyclist. Additionally, he has recently worked with the Irish Elite Track squad at their training camps in Newport and Aigle and at their record breaking World Cup event in Beijing. David is now able to make his skill and expertise available locally to anyone who wishes to enhance their sporting performance, recover from injury, address issues of stress and chronic tension or simply achieve improved personal health and well-being. Massage therapy can be available to everyone*, is effective in treating a very wide range of injuries and conditions, can speed your return to optimum physical and mental health and sporting performance and…it will make you feel good! Therefore, massage can be just as beneficial for the office worker or shop assistant as for the serious athlete and it can work as either a regular part of a weekly or monthly routine or as a ‘one-off’ treat. Massage therapy is natural, relaxing/de-stressing, therapeutic and safe. Your comfort and confidentiality are always paramount. In sporting terms, more and more people are realizing that a good workout routine includes not only the exercise itself, but also caring for the wear-and-tear and minor injuries that naturally occur with strenuous training. An athlete who wants to be able to continue to train at increasingly higher levels of intensity must be able to recover as speedily as possible. The physiological and psychological benefits of massage make it an ideal complement to a total training programme; which itself is usually squeezed into a hectic and often stressful lifestyle. Some of the Physical Benefits of Massage are: Identifies problem areas before they develop into injuries Relaxes and stretches muscles, restoring suppleness and elasticity Removes ‘trigger points’ formed as a result of injury Frees muscle adhesions and softens scar tissue Flushes out toxins that cause muscle stiffness and reduces DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) Accelerates muscle recovery from exertion Fosters faster healing of strained muscles and sprained ligaments Reduces pain and swelling and the formation of excessive scar tissue Provides greater joint flexibility and range of motion Improves circulation of blood, movement of lymph fluids and stimulation of feel-good/healing hormones e.g. endorphins Reduces blood pressure Improves posture Strengthens the immune system Promotes a better quality of sleep Some of the Mental Benefits of Massage are: Promotes a relaxed state of mental alertness Helps relieve mental/psychological stress Enhances the capacity for calm thinking and creativity Supports overall emotional well-being Reduces levels of anxiety Improves body awareness and mind-body connection Massage can be carried out at David’s home on the Drumnabreeze Road, just outside Magheralin or at a place convenient to you and suitable for massage e.g. your home. Every effort will be made to arrange session times and venue to suit your requirements. Costs are: • 30 mins - £15 • 40 mins - £20 • 50 mins - £25 • 60 mins - £30 • 1 hour+ - £30+ A small travel fee may be added for home visits - £5 within a 10-15 mile radius. A first session will normally last 1 hour and will involve a 15-20 minute consultation, including a confidential medical & health questionnaire. This initial session will be charged at £20. If you are interested, have any questions or would like to enquire (no obligation) for either yourself or for a friend/loved one, you can contact David anytime on 07753 834247 or dave.gardiner@mac.com Best Regards and i look forward to hearing from you David Gardiner Sports Massage Therapist * Anyone exhibiting contra-indications** may not be offered massage therapy. ** Contra-indications may include: high temperature/infection, open wounds/burns, heart conditions, cancer or thrombosis. |
